SUSAN BRAZELL – Commercial Service Team Member. After 7 years in the banking business, Susan became our receptionist in 2001, then moved into our commercial insurance department in 2002. Susan became licensed in 2004 as a customer service representative.

PAULA BURNS – Houston Branch. Paula and her family moved to Midland from South Carolina and became a part of our team in 2003. They moved to Houston in 2005 and she opened our Houston Branch office, specializing in the alternative energy industry, state-wide, and in large churches in the Houston area. (Click here for more on our Houston operations.) Paula is working towards her Certified Insurance Counselor and Certified Risk Manager designations. She has been in the insurance industry since 1984.

TERESA CAIN, ACSR, CIC – Producer and Marketing Manager. Teresa has been with Mims & Smith since 2000 and had over ten years insurance experience prior to that. Teresa writes new business, manages several large accounts, and helps the rest of the sales staff as marketing assistant.

KELLY CHILDERS, ACSR – Commercial Service Team Member. From receptionist in 1998, to Personal Lines Customer Service Representative for 5 years, Kelly moved into our commercial insurance department in December 2004.

ELYSE DUNCAN, PLCS – Elyse began her insurance career with us in January of 2006. She attended training in Hartford, Connecticut and earned her Personal Lines Customer Service designation. Elyse is an Account Manager for our personal insurance clients.

ANN FROST – Operations/Accounting Supervisor. Ann has many administrative and accounting responsibilities in our agency and usually supervisors at least two employees who assist her. Ann joined us in 1999 after four years experience at Southwestern Bell and is key to the day-to-day operations in our agency.

GREG FROST, CPCU – Producer. Greg came to us from State Farm in December 2003 with nearly 20 years experience. Greg sells business insurance, specializing in medical and home-health care, non-profit organizations, and industrial businesses.

KATHY HAGLER – Commercial Customer Service Representative. After over nine years in human resources, Kathy decided on a new career in insurance at Mims & Smith. She attended the six-week Hartford Commercial Lines School of Insurance program in the Spring of 2005 and now handles a book of business including alternative energy businesses and businesses related to the medical and home-health care industry.

DAVID MIMS, CIC – Co-owner, MBA, President & CEO. Enough said! Since coming back to Midland in 1977, David is the third Mims generation in this agency. He has earned his CIC (Certified Insurance Counselor) designation.

BECKY NALL – Commercial Customer Service Representative. Becky came on board in 2002 as our receptionist and accounting assistant. She has been quick to learn and advance and is now a licensed CSR. Becky services our chuches, non-profit organizations and large property accounts.

SHERRY PHILLIPS, ACSR, CISR – Personal Insurance Department Leader. Sherry has been with our agency since 1994. Along with providing administrative management and leadership to the department, she handles the service work for select accounts.

TAMMY PORTER – Personal Customer Service Representative. Tammy joined us in 2002 with twelve years experience as an insurance underwriter in Ohio. She came back to Midland and joined our personal insurance team. She is now a licensed customer service representative in our personal insurance department.

LESA SANCHEZ, ACSR – Commercial Customer Service Representative. Lesa joined us in 1997, moved and came back, and now is the leader of our commercial insurance service team and services a small book of business, specializing in contractors and industrial accounts.

BRENDA SMITH, CIC, CRM – Co-owner & Vice-President. She had 16 years experience before joining us in 1989. She is our Systems & Operations Manager, produces new business and manages several large accounts. She has recently earned her Certified Risk Manager designation.

SAN SMITH, CIC – Producer. He joined us in 1994 with 6 years experience. He produces new business and manages several large accounts.

TAMMY TARIN, CISR – Commercial Customer Service Representative. Tammy joined our team in November of 2003. With over 11 years experience, she services many of our oil & gas customers.

BEA WILLIAMS, ACSR, CISR – Agency Claims Manager. From Commercial CSR to Department Manager to Producer to Claims Manager in 29 short years!! With 14 years prior insurance experience, Bea has been with us since 1986. She is also working toward a CIC (Certified Insurance Counselor) designation.

LACRISHA WYNNE, ACSR, CISR – Commercial Customer Service Representative. After one year with another agency, she came to Mims and Smith in 1993 as a commercial insurance assistant. She moved to Personal Lines, earned her ACSR (Accredited Customer Service Representative) designation, and is now back in Commercial Lines handling many of our oil & gas accounts.
